I have had the privilege of working at Lake George for the past 2 years. I have had the best time working here. The facility is very warm and inviting. We strive to be a family here. And love each and everyone of our residents as our own family. The view itself is beyond breathtaking, it makes you want to stop and admire the view god has created for us. The staff takes pride in the building and insures that it's safe and clean for the residents.

Lake George is a great place for senior living in Columbia. It is small, clean, in a quiet rural setting. The staff care about the residents and the entire place provides a family-like experience.

Lake George is truly one of a kind. I had the incredible opportunity to complete my occupational therapy doctoral capstone project here, and for the first time I was able to experience what true quality care looks like in a senior living facility. Roystan Pais, the owner of Lake George, goes above and beyond for each of the residents, and the other staff members treat each resident like family. I got to see first hand how the “small home community” style of senior living facilities truly impacts the residents quality of life in a positive way. As an occupational therapist focused specifically on the geriatric population, I could not recommend this facility more for the aging population in the Columbia, MO area.

My 95 year old Mother was determined to stay in her house for as long as she could. After a series of falls and mishaps, she agreed to give living at Lake George a try. I got a call from her shortly after she moved there saying she was sitting on the porch with some other residents watching the geese land on the lake and she was glad she made the move. The staff and residents at Lake George could not have made her feel more welcome. They gave her the kind of personalized attention that she never would have received in one of the larger assisted living places we had visited. On one visit to her doctor, another woman in the waiting room who was faced with no longer being able to stay in her home expressed concern about her situation, and my mother said; “you should come to Lake George…you’ll love it there.” It was such a relief to find a place where she was happy and I knew she was being well cared for by a competent and compassionate staff. I could not recommend Lake George more highly.John SimsSent from my iPhone

I left a Nursing home of bring employed 27 years to start a new journey at Lake George Senior Living , over 2 years ago. From the moment I set foot in this building, It has felt like a home , not a business. The residents and their families are awesome. You can always find a helping hand, good laugh and a smile. No matter staff, family, or the residents. We all work together as a community. As any business in Health care it has it’s ups and downs, just like like the seasons of any year. But as a family-like , we work through any issue and give it our best end results to make everyone comfortable and happy. I enjoy it here, and there’s not been a morning, day or night that I have not wanted to show up and be here. The view here is awesome. Thank you LG for the opportunity to allow me to strive in my position, to love & care for such beautiful individuals. Theirs never a duke moment ♥️

“When it was time to transition our mother from her home to a care facility we toured 2 facilities, Lake George was the second.

No need to keep looking after that, we knew we had found her forever home.

Roystan and his staff truly make you and your family members needs a priority and works diligently to continue to provide safety in every way possible.

The lake is beautiful during all seasons of the year.”

“Lake George is a lovely, little, close knit community in a serene setting. Sunrises and frequent geese on the lake invite the morning arrival to the well-appointed rooms and apartments. Staff members are caring and attentive.

Everyone seems like extended family with staff, residents, and families all looking after each other with genuine consideration. My parents have enjoyed this rural type setting in close proximity to necessities of shopping and

healthcare.”

“Lake George is the best kept secret in Columbia!  I first discovered this hidden

gem during my 25 year home health career.  I always knew I would want my

parents to live at Lake George should they need assistance in their later years.

Since the day they moved in, I have continued to be impressed with the

ownership and staff.  Roystan, the owner, is on site daily making sure the

residents are happy.  The nurses, cooks and staff are kind, patient and

compassionate.  The food is excellent and tailored to each individual’s tastes and

needs.  There is a wonderful camaraderie among the residents and staff.

Lake George is truly a home where residents can live with assistance,

not just another assisted living facility!”

“Lake George Assisted Living is the best place for our mom! The rooms are kept clean, the food is homemade, and the view of the lake is so peaceful. Most importantly, mom is comfortable and made to feel welcome by the staff and other residents. Being a smaller facility with a low staff to resident ratio, mom is never overlooked or forgotten. She is safe and very well cared for and I appreciate the easy, personal, and open line of communication that I have with the staff and the owner. They understand that I am my mother’s advocate and that we are a team when it comes to mom’s health and wellbeing. Mom is currently in the more moderate-severe phase of her dementia. She was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia in 2014, although we believe the symptoms of the disease began approximately 2-3 years prior to then. In 2013, the year we lost our dad to cancer, it became apparent to him and all 6 kids that mom’s personality was changing, her memory was failing, and she was losing her ability to reason and make good choices for herself. In 2015, we moved mom to an independent living facility in Columbia and within a year’s time, we found she needed more help with her activities of daily living (ADLs) so we transitioned her to the assisted living side of the facility. We soon discovered that the facility was too big (staff to resident ratios were too large) as we didn’t feel mom was getting the personal attention she needed as her disease progressed, so we moved her to a much smaller facility. Unfortunately, the smaller facility did not provide mom with enough stimulation and activity for her then current state of the disease and I found the communication with the staff to be very difficult, so we moved her to another facility where she resided comfortably for several years until this past Fall when we moved her into Lake George. I believe it was a God-wink to have found a place for mom at Lake George Assisting Living. The residence is exactly what mom needed at just the right time! Roystan, Carole, Fadeanna, and all of the staff at Lake George are caregivers who truly care about the residents and their families. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for providing mom with the love and care that she needs and deserves!”

Sincerely, Stacey, on behalf of all of Geri’s 6 kids and their families
